Stop Sewage

The chief of Thames Water has claimed they would “take a dip” in ‘fully treated’ sewage water after being challenged by Liberal Democrat Assembly Members. This is despite 72 billion litres of sewage being discharged into the Thames since 2020.

Hina Bokhari, your Lib Dem London Assembly Member, was questioning the Thames Water joint chief executive, after revealing that last year alone 14.3 billion litres of sewage was discharged into the river Thames.

Hina said "The Liberal Democrats are calling on water companies to stop putting profit before the environment and properly protect the Thames from more sewage discharge. Many people still use the waterways for leisure and to lose this would be a massive failure.

Stop Sewage

We call on water companies to stop putting profit before the environment and properly protect the Thames from more sewage discharges.
