Stop the Property Rip Off

Liberal Democrats have campaigned to end leasehold for over 100 years - it a feudal system which extracts wealth from Londoners to line the pockers of corporations. It is not fit for the modern world.

Now with more and more large tower blocks being built to tackle the housing crisis - renters are increasingly finding themselves suffering under the same unaccountable corporations, and we are finding ever more homes with serious defects. 

We need radical reform of the property sector to stop the rip off once and for all - building more homes, safe homes, and genuinely affordable homes.      

Sign the petition below to back the Liberal Democrat campaign to:  

• Replace Leaseholds with Commonhold for ALL & permanently abolish ground rent now - not in 40 years as per Labour's current plan.  
• Regulate management companies to ensure proper accountability and transparency  
• Ensure all blocks of flats are covered by the Building Safety Act - no one should be unprotected
• Make the industry pay for poor quality buildings by forcing accountability on developers, inspectors & insurers
