Demo Surveys

These are the two “competing” options to consider

The version on Fleet with a Connect Form

The Typeform Option

Observations

About the responder

1)  The Fleet version handles the person's contact details very well and these questions do not count towards the limit of 5.  A record is created in My Campaign or data added to an existing record. However there is no way to check the validity of the postcode entered. Most online systems nowadays validate such data to ensure it has been entered correctly - e.g. https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/collection-day

2) The Typeform version will allow a simple (and imperfect) postcode validation.  If the space is omitted it's still accepted - this will probably cause a problem when uploading data to Connect (needs to be checked).  We can't use the Contacts feature as it says “You don't have permission to view audiences. Please contact your administrator for access.”

Issues Questions

3) Currently the questions available in Connect each are for one single issues so that all five allowed options could be quickly used up. Also the layout on a PC screen uses up a lot of space vertically.  Much better on a phone.  The example uses three issues, a VI question and a volunteer question - the limit of 5 is reached.  It could be that a limit of 8 or 10 would be sufficient to expand

4) If we use a multiple choice question on Typeform, the question arises as to how the data should be stored in Connect.  in a similar vein, there is a ranking option in Typeform which has no equivalent in Connect unless we create it.

5) Some years ago we did have some isues questions that had multi choioce answers - there is probably a good reason why they were dropped.

Volunteering

6) There's been a change to the way volunteering options are stored in Connect - there are now individual questions for Delivery, Donations, Canvassers etc. Given the limti fo 5 questions in Fleet, we could reasonably ask one question - will you help - and if the response is yes then we could go back to the person and follow up the detail - (that's surely best practice anyway)

End Screen

7) The Fleet end screen doesn't seem to be customisable. I would have liked to write something like “ is there something else on your mind you'd like us to tackle?   If so please email campaogns@londonlibdems.org.uk” or something like that.  Also there is no email response to either the responder or the campaigner. Typeform can be set up to send an email to us when a new entry is made.
