Who is your local hero?

Could you be a local hero?
London Region needs you to tell us who your local heroes are for our new Local Hero awards.
The awards, which will be presented at Regional Conference on Saturday 13th September, will recognise the exemplary service given by so many of our former Councillors across the borough, but we need you to tell us who deserves to win!

Sounds good! But how do I nominate?
It's simple to nominate, and will only take a minute. Just email Regional Secretary Helen Walsh quoting the subject line "Local Hero" and tell us who you want to nominate including:
1) Their name
2) Their local party (if you know it, if not just give us the borough they live in or the area they represented)
3) A sentence or two about why you think they deserve to win an award. This might be specific local campaigns they led on, improvements they secured or mentoring and support they gave to you or other campaigners during their time in office.

Who can nominate?
Any member in London can nominate any other London member who has previously stood as an elected councillor for the Liberal Democrats in London. You might chose to nominate a fellow former councillor and they you. If you would like to nominate more than one person, that's also ok.

What about the prizes?
The panel will shortlist the best nominations and awards will be presented at a drinks reception at the regional conference on Saturday 13th September. All conference attendees are invited to attend the drinks reception, where the achievements of all our hardworking former councillors and candidates will be celebrated.
We look forward to receiving your nominations and seeing you at regional conference!
