London Assembly Member Hina Bokhari has hit out at the Mayor of London today after being made aware that at least one property with flammable cladding is currently listed on his Homes for Londoners portal.
The portal is a webpage where Londoners can search for affordable homes to buy and rent, hosted by the Greater London Authority. Assembly Member Bokhari had raised the issue of dangerous properties being listed on the site previously, in July 2021, and received assurances from the Mayor that the way properties were being listed would be reviewed and refreshed to prevent dangerous properties being listed again.
Commenting on these developments Hina said:
“I am incredibly concerned that, once again, it seems at least one property with dangerous cladding and serious fire safety defects has been listed on this site.
“I’m especially concerned and frustrated given the assurances I was provided with by the Mayor in August 2021. This situation is simply not good enough and Londoners need assurances that no more dangerous properties will be listed on Mayor’s Homes for Londoners portal.”
