Building the bridges we need, not the bridges we don't

Caroline Pidgeon today welcomed the publication of a feasibility study into a proposed Bike Bridge across the Thames between Rotherhithe and Canary Wharf.

Caroline said "I have long championed the building of a pedestrian and cycle bridge to link these 2 growing areas.  A new bridge in this location will take many people off the already over crowded public transport network.

"This is a practical solution to coping with London's transport needs unlike the much vaunted Garden Bridge which is simply a vanity project.  A well designed bridge, commissioned via a proper and open procurement process, will be a boon to the local area and London as a whole."
