Below you can download and print our canvassing guide and briefing sheet. Give a copy to every canvasser in your team - it's a good idea to start the session with a 5 or 10 minute briefing, and you can add in any local issues that might be relevant.
Arm yourselves with clipboards, rosettes or badges, pens and canvass cards ... and have a great time as a team!
How to print your "canvass cards" on Connect
First create a list of the voters you intend to call on. Use the Districts section to select (in this order) your local authority, then choose your target ward - let the screen refresh each time you make a choice - then select the polling district you will be calling on today.
If you need to narrow down further, you can use the the "Location" section to target specific streets, but you must enter the street name exactly. An alternative option is to run your search and then use the "Cut Turf" tool. For details of how to do this and other more advanced topics, see the OSKAR training here. (Log in information is on that page if needed).
Now choose the Print tool. For canvass cards for this elections use ther drop down menu "Pick the Report Format for printing" and choose the "London 2016" format. Let the screen refresh, leave the default options, sort order etc, as they are and click "Next" at the bottom of the page. Your PDF is being prepared - it'll tell you onscreen how to download it. Print it - you don't need to print all the pages, just the ones you need - and go our canvassing !
