The Tories are pushing through an unfair and unsafe contract for junior doctors, and their Equality Impact Assessment states that it will disproportionately impact women, those with children, those who work part time, and in particular single parent families. They state that doctors will be able to save money when working more weekends and evenings by taking advantage of “informal” childcare from family and friends – something that few of us (myself included) do not have, and they have no plans to push hospital nurseries to provide extended hours and weekends to cover the extension to hours considered (and paid) as “normal working hours”. What stand is the Liberal Democrats taking against this unfair and unsafe contract? How will your childcare policy help healthcare workers access and afford evening and weekend childcare?

I don’t know if you are aware of Mint St Adventure Playground. Adele Morris is working on the transition there but we are dedicated to keeping the playground open and to keep the staff we have. It creates a safer community for all in this area. It’s a free play space and the only one we have left with supervised activities where we can safely leave our children to be part of an extended family. Good Luck!

So outrageously expensive that I was charged an amount more than my expected income. So desperately want to work but can’t and my husband’s income is barely enough with 2 young children. So sad that the government NEVER thinks about supporting mothers who truly desire to work.
